Last Week in Western Kentucky

The big story last week, as Eric properly noted, was Male's 24-14 victory over Trinity.  It was the first time Trinity had lost to a Kentucky public school since November 12, 2004 -- when the Shamrocks were beaten 14-10 by Dixie Heights in the second round of the Class AAAA Tournament.  For the record, I'm still picking Trinity to win the 6A title.

Here are the scores from last week's high school football games in Western Kentucky (home teams listed first).  I'm really happy that Caldwell County pasted Murray.  I would also note that Mayfield put up the exact same score against Fulton City and Fulton County -- of course, the Cardinals could name the score, and they probably didn't want to play favorites.

Ballard Mem. 40 - 7 Crittenden Co.
Caldwell Co. 42 - 13 Murray
Daviess Co. 12 - 49 McCracken Co.
Fulton City 0 - 47 Russellville
Fulton Co. 0 - 63 Mayfield
Graves Co. 38 - 21 Christian Co.
Henderson Co. 59 - 21 Marshall Co.
Hopkinsville 34 - 7 Ohio Co.
Madisonville-N. Hopkins 48 - 0 Calloway Co.
Trigg Co. 6 - 27 Paducah Tilghman
Webster Co. 18 - 49 Ft. Campbell
