It's College Baseball Time

There are few things more depressing than checking in on college baseball season only to learn that UNC is the number-one team in the nation.  But we've still got a long way to go and we'll just have to hope for the best.  Plus, there is a lot of local interest, with Vandy, UK, and U of L all ranked in the top 10.

Here is the latest top 25 in college baseball, as ranked by Baseball America:

2.  Oregon St:  21-2
3.  Vanderbilt:  21-4
4.  Louisiana St:  22-2
5.  Cal-State Fullerton:  21-3
6.  Florida St:  22-2
7.  UCLA:  17-4
8.  Kentucky:  18-5
9.  Virginia:  22-2
10.  Louisville:  19-4
11.  Mississippi:  21-4
12.  Oregon:  18-6
13.  Georgia Tech:  18-5
14.  Oklahoma:  22-4
15.  Arkansas:  17-7
16.  Notre Dame:  14-6
17.  S. Carolina:  18-6
18.  Rice:  18-8
19.  Indiana:  18-3
20.  Houston:  21-4

Western is 5-1 in the Sun Belt and 13-11 overall.  They are tied for first place in the Belt with South Alabama.

Murray State is 6-3 in the OVC, and 12-12 overall.  Morehead State is 4-5 in the OVC, and 9-15 overall.  Eastern is 2-7 in the OVC, and 5-14 overall.  They both trail Tennessee Tech, which is 8-1 in the OVC and 18-6 overall.

  1. Right now, Louisville has the number one overall seed in men's basketball, a spot in the Sweet 16 in women's basketball, and a top 10 team in baseball. This is only a few months after Louisville crushed Florida to win the Sugar Bowl in football. And it's not much longer until Louisville will join the ACC.

    It is simply amazing how much better Jurich is than his "competitors." It's like he's playing chess while everyone else plays checkers.
