On Wednesday night, Morehead State beat UT-Martin 73-66 in the OVC Tournament. But last night, the Eagles lost 88-75 to Tennessee State.
Northern Kentucky is not eligible for the NCAA Tournament, so Morehead State becomes the first of Kentucky's six Division I schools to have their chance at the national title come to an end. The Eagles finish with a record of 8-8 in the OVC, and 15-18 overall. This was Sean Woods's first year as the Eagle coach, and his season will most likely be remembered for his comment that the players on this year's UK team "didn't seem like Kentucky players to me." At the time, the former Wildcat took a lot of heat from UK fans, but in retrospect, his comments seem prescient.
