  1. Here's something to keep in mind next year when you fill out your NCAA pool: most years, one of the teams in the Final Four will be a team that hasn't been there for at least 20 years:

In 2010 it was West Virginia and Butler.
    In 2011 it was VCU.
    It didn't happen last year.
But this year it's Wichita State.

  2. This is a very, very odd-feeling Final Four collection.

  3. It's quite rare to have a Final Four with no teams from the ACC or the SEC. In fact, it hasn't happened since 2003, when the Final Four consisted of Syracuse, Kansas, Texas, and Marquette.

This was also the first time since 2006 that neither UK, Kansas, nor UNC reached the Elite Eight.

This is also the third year in a row that neither UNC nor Duke has reached the Final Four. That hasn't happened since 1983 to 1985.

This was also the second year in a row that the ACC tournament was won by a team not from North Carolina. (It was Florida State last year and Miami of Florida this year.) That had never happened before.
