Oh, Kentucky

With Isaac remnants threatening to dump a bunch of rain on western Kentucky starting tomorrow afternoon, the Lone Oak-at-Marshall County and Fulton County-at-Reidland football games will be played tonight. The games with a lot of pageantry and fan attention are just too complex to move, I guess. For example, Horse Cave Caverna at West Paducah Heath remains scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. Central Friday. (Paducah Tilghman plays Friday evening at Mayfield, too.)

Ray Callahan's Wikipedia entry mentions a lot of coaching stops in his fantastic career, but it fails to mention what Larry Vaught reports in Danville's Advocate-Messenger was the one place he ever wished he could return

Tough week for ex-University of Louisville Cardinals in Atlanta: The Falcons cut Chris Redmanthe Dream suspends Angel McCoughtry.

School-choice issues bubble up at a Webster County School Board meeting (but only to about two-thirds of the way into this story).

Good jobs news from Murray.

  1. I've now deleted my first item about Paducah International Raceway's closing the shot I took at Paul Ryan, given that it turns out I had misread his speech. This reminds me of the time that I got thrown off the Heath sideline for yelling at an official to call a facemask--and it turned out he had called a facemask.
