Euro 2012 Update: The Reign of Spain Continues

Congratulations to Spain, who crushed Italy 4-0 yesterday to capture the 2012 European Championship in soccer. Spain has been on an amazing run. In soccer, the Spanish national team has won three consecutive major tournaments: the 2008 European Championship, the 2010 World Cup, and the 2012 European Championship. In basketball, the Spanish national team won the 2006 World Championship, took the silver medal in the 2008 Olympics, and won the last two European Championships (held in 2009 and 2011). And then Spain also has Rafael Nadal, who is the greatest tennis player in the world. So their economy isn't doing all that well, but when it comes to sports, Spain is a world-beater.

  1. Spain played breathtaking football, with incisive short passes. The way they penetrated the Italian defence through deft dribbling and sharp passing, they dominated the total game.Kudos! Spain!

  2. Thanks for the comment.

Spain's passing is just extraordinary. I watched both England and Germany play Italy and those two teams struggled to get a decent shot. But Spain can just tear you apart.
