Congratultations to Our Guys

As Eric has already mentioned, UK did very well in the NBA Draft last night. Anthony Davis and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (who went to the Hornets and Bobcats, respectively) became the first two players from the same college ever to be drafted first and second overall, and Terrence Jones (18th pick, to the Rockets), Marquis Teague (29th pick, to the Bulls), Doron Lamb (42d pick, to the Bucks), and Darius Miller (46th pick, to the Hornets) were also drafted. I'm thrilled for all of them. They were great kids, they played hard, they played as a team, and they acted with class and dignity through a very stressful basketball season. Now I hope they all become very, very rich. But whatever happens to them in the NBA, they'll always be heroes to me.

  1. I'm going to try something new this coming NBA season. As opposed to my approach with the NFL, where I have moved back home with the Miami Dolphins, I am going to experiment outside the traditions and hangups of monogamy in the NBA. The truth is that my team--the Washington Bullets--no longer even exist. So I'm going to try living it a little loose ... a little Darius and AD and the Hornets one night, a little Terrence and PPat and the Rockets the next, a little Dwayne Casey and the Raptors the next ... maybe I'll even hit up John Wall and the Wizards from time to time. No promises, no apologies, no worries.
