College Baseball Update

Eric's Golden Flashes were finally eliminated today. South Carolina's Mike Roth pitched a spectacular game -- 9 innings, 2 hits, 1 run allowed, 8 strikeouts, 0 walks. He only faced 28 batters as the Gamecocks beat Kent State 2-1 in an elimination game.

South Carolina will play Arkansas tonight in a game that the Gamecocks must win to set up a winner-take-all showdown in Bracket Two.

As for Kent State, they were one of the last five teams in the country still playing, and they were beaten by the ace pitcher for the two-time defending national champion. That's a great season for any team, much less one from the Mid American Conference.

  1. I'll be rooting for Arkansas to win tonight's rematch with South Carolina and advance to the final series with Arizona.
