Oh, Kentucky

Mark Story weighs in on the Joe B phenomenon.

Wendell Berry weighs in on innovation.

Gordon Crump weighed in on "home for the rest of my life."

This whole Lynyrd Skynyrd/Kansas/Doobie Brothers/make-it-free situation in Fort Knox turned out to be a heck of a customer-service story.

An interview with the Columbia Medal of Honor winner is in heavy rotation on Fox News today. No word yet on whether MSNBC is running a feature on how awful and backward all the people in Columbia are. (That one's to see if Anonymous Wife is out there reading today.)

I love stories about stuff like how fire departments came to exist.

Ah, footbah: Here, at last.

The mood of this event will, of course, be tempered by memories of the home-standing, Class 4A Maroons' 14-0 loss to Class A Heath in the last regular-season game of the 1985 football season.

  1. The biggest shocker to me was the total number in attendance for the Fort Knox concert.

  2. Is 3,600 shockingly low or shockingly high?
