Best of the 90's: Use Your Illusion II by Guns N' Roses

Use Your Illusion II [Explicit]In 1987 Guns N' Roses hit the scene with Appetite for Destruction.  I was never a big fan, but still it was an impressive album.  They would follow it up four years later with Use Your Illusion I & II.  You knew if you had half a brain that something was off with the band if this was their follow up effort.  It's a lot of music over two albums, but it doesn't work together.  They split them into two albums to at least give each some sense of coherence, but there is something a bit off about both of these albums.  Where Appetite is so structured, these two albums are not.

This was essentially the end of Guns N' Roses, and a band which had popped on the scene and taken over was gone almost as quickly.  To my mind there is nothing on either of these album worth making note of and I've always dismissed them.  I'm surprised to see them sitting on the Best of the 90's list.  This one currently sits at number 86.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 1 out of 5 stars for Just OK.
