Album Review: I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive by Steve Earle

I'll Never Get Out Of This World AliveI know of Steve Earle more as a songwriter than I do a performer.  He's written some great songs over the years for people like Kelly Willis so I'm a distant fan.

This album takes us to Steve Earle's traditional country and rockabilly roots and it's a good place to be with Earle.  Especially when this collection of songs focuses on mortality.  If you're going to sing about mortality what better platform to use than traditional country and rockabilly roots.

This album doesn't jump out and grab you by any means, but it has good hooks, good lyrics, and can easily become a part of your day if you let it play.  If you want to hear some solid rockabilly I'd say put this one on and enjoy.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 3 out of 5 stars for Pretty Good.
