Last Night's Boys' Regional Games

Eight more games last night, leaving us with 48 teams still competing for the title:

9th Region Semi-Finals (at N. Kentucky)
Dixie Heights 53, Boone Co. 48
Newport Cent. Catholic 56, Ryle 42

Today Dixie Heights will be trying to reach the state tournament for the first time since 1957.

10th Region Semi-Finals (at Mason Co.)
George Rogers Clark 69, Scott 41
Pendleton Co. 60, Mason Co. 56

Mason's streak of 3 consecutive regional titles comes to an end.

11th Region Semi-Finals (at E. Kentucky)
Madison Cent. 42, Lex. Tates Creek 41
Lex. Catholic 71, Woodford Co. 57

Madison Central's upset of Tates Creek -- the team that beat Catholic in last week's District Tournaments -- opens the door for Catholic to capture its third regional title in the last four years.

13th Region Semi-Finals (at the Arena, Corbin):
Bell Co. 47, Knox Cent. 44
Corbin 56, Clay Co. 51 (OT)

Corbin is going for its third consecutive regional crown; Bell Co. hasn't been to the state tournament since 1980.
