Album Review: Going Out of Style by Dropkick Murphys

Going Out In StyleThe Celtic, punk band the Dropkick Murphys have gone where very few punk bands go and created a concept album about the life of Cornelius Larkin.  The Murphys have created a workingman's sound with their blend of Celtic music and punk and so of course Larkin is just that a working class man and the album tells his life story.

If you like the Dropkick Murphys you'll love this album.  If you don't like the Dropkick Murphys you won't like it, because even with the concept it's hard to get past their sound if it's not your thing.

It wears me down about midway through the first song, but I'm impressed that these guys were willing to try and do something as interesting as putting together a concept album like this.

I honestly can't say a good time to listen to this album.  Their sound really grates on me.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 1 out of 5 stars for Just OK.
