Album Review: Elgin by Ginuwine

ElginIf you like the current, formulaic R&B then this is for you.  If you are like me and you don't like it, then this album is one to stay away from.

There is nothing here to attract anyone as far as I can see.  The sound is the same as we hear from every other artist right now and the song content is non existent.

I really can't think of anytime I would play this album or any songs off of it.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 0 out of 5 stars for Don't Like.

  1. You're comments on the current R & B scene are often very similar to your comments on the current country-music scene.

  2. Both are well controlled and highly profitable areas of the music industry. Obviously they know what they are doing, it's just that they tend to produce music that doesn't do a lot for me.

  3. WTf..this album doesnt sound anything like the current albums that these "Young" artist make. I think Ginuwine made a very mature album and it has a nice R&B sound..no autotune..no europop..just straight R&B

  4. If you want good R&B I would recommend either Cee-Lo Green's last album, or Ne-Yo's last album over this one. And in the Ginuwine vein I would take the R. Kelly latest release over this one. That's what I'm comparing this album too and in that sense I think it falls short. A 0 out of 5 is a bit too harsh, but that's how I felt when I wrote the review so I'll stick to it.
