  2. I went out on the town in Madisonville this afternoon, hoping the change in scenery would shake a story out of me. I tried the Arby's dining room, the Melody Lanes bowling-alley coffeeshop and now a parking spot next to the Confederate States of America monument on the Hopkins County Court House square. At 5 p.m. Central, a hymn played over the court-house chimes, but I couldn't place the title. It's not at all an obscure one. My mom, listening to "Name That Hymn" on WSON out of Henderson, would've guessed it in about two notes.

Now I'm listening to "Hot Fun in the Summertime" on 99.7 FM WWKY, from Providence. Oh, outstanding ... now it's the Elton John version of "Pinball Wizard."
