2010 NCAA Football Playoffs Round 2 Matchups

The second round of the playoffs will be played on December 11th. Below are the second round matchups.

Group A
1 Auburn (SEC) vs 5 Alabama (SEC) in the Peach Bowl

2 Arkansas (SEC) vs 3 Louisiana State (SEC)  in the Liberty Bowl

Group D
1 Virginia Tech (ACC) vs 5 Utah (MWC) in the Hall of Fame Bowl

2 Stanford (P10) vs 6 Nebraska (B12) in the  Fiesta Bowl


Group B
1 Oklahoma (B12) vs 4 Michigan State (B10) in the Independence Bowl

2 Ohio State (B10) vs 3 Boise State (WAC) in the Tangerine Bowl

Group C
1 Oregon (P10) vs 4 Missouri (B12) in the Holiday Bowl

2 Texas Christian (MWC) vs 3 Wisconsin (B10) in the Copper Bowl

  2. See, this is why you need some sort of rule to keep teams in the same conference away from each other until the later rounds. Auburn just beat Alabama at Alabama, and Arkansas just beat LSU. Those were hard-fought, incredibly intense games, and now they literally count for nothing -- because Auburn and Arkansas didn't even win a home field advantage.

    I don't know what will happen in this tournament, but in real life I believe that Group D is a walkover for Stanford, Group B is a walkover for Ohio State, Group C is a walkover for Oregon, and Group A is just a total brawl.

    I am glad to see the Copper Bowl back.
