Steve Elkington also failed to birdie the 18th hole, so he has also been eliminated.
Dustin Johnson did birdie the 16th hole, so he is tied for the lead with two holes left.
Kaymer is tied for the lead with one hole left.
McIlroy (who has struggled with putting all day), just missed a birdie putt on 17 and now must birdie the 18th to have a chance.
