Kentucky Minute

Today's episode comes live from Marion, where we just ate an ice-cream cake.

  1. Google Maps says that if you are going from Madisonville to Marion, you should take KY-70 to Fredonia, and then take US-641 to Marion. Is that what you did?

  2. No, we went 109 through Providence, Clay and Sullivan, but your route is as good as ours.

We just had a big conversation about the specter of McCracken County High School. The mascot will be Mustangs, Mrs. Vaughn reports.

  3. I hate the notion of choosing a mascot solely for reasons of alliteration, but then I hate everything about McCracken County H.S. What a disaster that is going to be. Even Laurel County couldn't maintain a single high school. And after forty years of very dramatic football seasons (at least at Heath and Lone Oak), I am simply stunned that they would kill everyone's chances of ever winning the state title ever again by building a school that would have to get past Trinity and St. X to go all the way.

  4. It was a great visit that ended with Mr. Vaughn and Mrs. Nance Woehler discussing Paul and President Obama.
